Renaissance Radiology employs a state-of-the-art, multi-slice CT, the Siemens Somatom Sensation 64. The X-ray tube can complete a 360-degree rotation in 0.37 seconds, creating slices as small as 0.4 mm.

For patients, this translates into speed and diagnostic detail. A scan of the chest, abdomen and pelvis can be performed in seconds during a single breath-hold. Previously, the same scan would have taken approximately an hour.

For physicians, the advanced design provides higher resolution, resulting in clearer images for more accurate diagnosis. Also, three-dimensional X-ray images display subtle differences in the body and have become an invaluable diagnostic tool.

What about radiation exposure?
Radiation exposure is minimized with the Siemens Somatom Sensation 64 CT. The multi-slice technology reduces radiation up to 40%. The scanner, in real time, alters the radiation emitted, depending on the thickness of the body part being scanned.
